Environmental Protection and Governance
Throughout the year, the comprehensive air quality index (2.34) ranked 3rd among 168 key cities across the country, rising by 4 places compared with the previous year. The good air quality rate was 99.5%, tied for first place in the province. The proportion of excellent water quality in centralized drinking water sources, the proportion of excellent water quality at national and provincial-controlled sections of major river basins, and the compliance rate for water quality at provincial assessment sections in small river basins and under the "incentive-based pollution control" program all remained at 100%. The proportion of excellent water quality points and areas in national and provincial-controlled coastal waters were 95.5% and 91.7% respectively, increasing by 9.1 and 7.5 percentage points compared with the previous year. The soil environmental quality remained stable. The disposal rate of hazardous waste and medical waste both reached 100%, and the safe utilization rate of key construction land was 100%. Throughout the year, the daytime and nighttime compliance rates of urban acoustic environmental function zones were 100% and 82.5% respectively.
Urban Greening
At the end of the year, the urban construction land area was 38,337.48 hectares. The centralized sewage treatment rate and the harmless treatment rate of domestic waste both reached 100%.
Public Utilities
Throughout the year, the total water consumption of tap water in the city was 477 million tons. Specifically, the water consumption for production and operation was 105 million tons, the water consumption of residential households was 218 million tons, and the water consumption for public services was 91 million tons. The total electricity consumption in the city was 40.59 billion kilowatt-hours. Specifically, the electricity consumption of the industrial sector was 20.098 billion kilowatt-hours, and the electricity consumption for the daily life of urban and rural residents was 8.48 billion kilowatt-hours. The total supply of natural gas in the city was 449.3138 million cubic meters. Specifically, the consumption of urban and rural households was 67.0977 million cubic meters, and the number of households using natural gas was 813,900.
Work Safety
Throughout the year, there were 48 various work safety accidents in the city, resulting in 44 deaths, and 2 relatively major accidents. No accidents occurred in the agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery industries, or the mining industry. There were 8 accidents in the commerce and manufacturing industry, resulting in 11 deaths; 8 accidents occurred in the construction industry, resulting in 8 deaths; 22 accidents occurred in the transportation industry (excluding expressways and railway transportation), resulting in 13 deaths; and 10 accidents occurred in other industries, resulting in 12 deaths. The mortality rate of work safety accidents per 100 million yuan of GDP was 0.0051.
