Economy Volume
The year 2023 saw the Regional Gross Domestic Product (Regional GDP) preliminarily estimated at 806.649 billion yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 3.1% in comparable prices. Specifically, the added value of the primary industry was 2.773 billion yuan, decreasing by 4.0%; that of the secondary industry was 286.794 billion yuan, down by 2.8%; and that of the tertiary industry was 517.081 billion yuan, up by 7.0%. The proportion of three industries was 0.3:35.6:64.1. 447.20 kWh of electricity was consumed per 10 thousand yuan worth of GDP and 5.98 tons of water was consumed, 0.1 tons fewer than that of last year.
 
Fiscal Revenue & Expenditure
The general public budgetary revenue reached RMB 157.706 billion with a year-on-year increase of 5.6%, among which the local fiscal revenue increased 5.5% to 93.21 billion yuan. The tax collected in the local fiscal revenue grew 5.3% to 66.504 billion yuan, of which the VAT was 27.544 billion yuan, up by 41.1%; the corporate income tax was 11.738 billion yuan,down by 7.1%; the personal income tax was 6.044 billion yuan, down by 3.0%; and the land appreciation tax was 3.945 billion yuan, decreasing by 53.3%.
The fiscal expenditure leveled off at 108.834 billion yuan compared with the previous year. Of this total, expenditure on education was RMB20.377 billion, increasing by 4.1%; that on science and technology was RMB6.166 million, up by 4.0%; that on urban and rural community affairs service was RMB12.34 billion, up by 3.1%; that on social security and employment was RMB1,170.7 million, up by 20.3%; and that on health care and family planning was RMB10.895 billion, down by 5.2 %.
 
Price
In 2023, the consumer goods price for all residents grew by 0.2% (see Table 1), among which the price went up 0.7% in food while the price in non-food remain stable over the period, and the price rose 1.3% in service projects and down 0.6 % in consumer goods.

Districts Economy
An analysis by regions showed that the gross domestic product (GDP) of Siming district reached 272.953 billion yuan, up by 5.6% over the previous year; that of Huli district rose to 172.418 billion yuan, up by 1.5%; that of Haicang district reached 101.043 billion yuan, down by 2.3%; that of Jimei district increased to 99.348 billion yuan, up by 2.6% ; that of Tong’an district went up to 72.169 billion yuan, a growth of 1.5%; and that of Xiang’an district arrived at 88.717 billion yuan, up by 7.0% year on year.
The total added value of the above-scale industrial enterprises in Siming District and  Xiang’an District rose by 8.8% and 15.0% respectively, while that in Huli District, Haicang District, Jimei District and Tong’an District declined by 4.3%, 6.2%, 1.5% and 2.5% respectively. 
For the whole year, the total retail sales of consumer goods from Siming district was 108.024 billion yuan, that from Huli district was 54.816 billion yuan, that from Haicang district was 32.033 billion yuan, that from Jimei district was 24.109 billion yuan, that from Tong’an district was 41.099 billion yuan, and that from Xiang’an district was 14.252 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.7%, 3.1%, 2.2%, 4.6% and -2.9% and 5.9% respectively.  
The investment in fixed assets saw an increase of 46.3% in Siming District, an increase of 29.4% in Huli District, a decrease of 9.5% in Haicang District, a decrease of 21.6% in Jimei District, an increase of 12.3% in Tong’an District and a decrease of 23.2% respectively.
Meanwhile, the city’s district-level public budgetary revenue (excluding the municipal level) expanded by 6.5% compared with last year, amounting to 28.902 billion yuan. Of this total, the public budgetary revenue in Siming district was 7.753 billion yuan, up by 7.8%; that in Huli district arrived at 5.946 billion yuan, up by 9.6%; that in Haicang district was 4.116 billion yuan, up by 4.4%; that in Jimei district reached 4.587 billion yuan, up by 0.6%; that in Tong’an district was 3.35 billion yuan, up by 4.6%; and that in Xiang’an district rose to 3.148 billion yuan, up by 12.6%.
