Recently, the Special Plan for the Development of Strategic Emerging Industries in Xiamen During the 15th Five-Year Period was officially released. The Plan sets clear goals for the next five years: by 2030, the development capacity of the city's strategic emerging industries will be comprehensively elevated; the output value of industrial strategic emerging industries will account for 45% of the total industrial output value of enterprises above designated size; four strategic emerging industry clusters each worth 100 billion yuan will be cultivated; breakthroughs will be made in key core technologies and frontier leading technologies; the number of high-quality enterprises will increase substantially; and the openness, inclusiveness, and innovation synergy of the industrial ecosystem will be significantly enhanced. The Plan clearly states that Xiamen will expand the development of emerging industries such as new energy, biomedicine, and artificial intelligence, and provides specific "blueprints" for these key sectors.
