According to the Airport Construction Command Center, landscaping work in the terminal area of Xiamen Xiang’an International Airport has been largely completed. Since the landscaping initiative began last September, 11 months of construction, planting, and routine maintenance have brought the overall landscape to its initial stage of formation. Landscaping projects along several key road sections are being accelerated, with a focus on cultivating a subtropical island urban green space ecosystem that reflects Xiamen's local characteristics. On August 3, the main structure of the Liandeng Bridge—a key provincial and municipal project—was fully completed. As a critical link in the Xiamen Xiang'an International Airport's collection and distribution system, once the bridge opens to traffic, it will further enhance the airport's multi-modal sea-land-air transport network, break through bottlenecks in cross-sea freight transport, and enable closed-loop connectivity on the island for regulated goods within the Lianhe and Dadeng zones of the Airport Comprehensive Bonded Zone. In addition, the project will inject strong momentum into the industrial agglomeration of the aviation economic zone, promote the coordinated development of the Xiamen-Zhangzhou-Quanzhou metropolitan area, and provide solid support for the construction of Xiamen's airport-based national logistics hub.
